Best restaurant in the Balestrand / Dragsvik area. This one completely caught us off guard. We were excited by all of the restaurants we were going to in Bergen, Lofoten, and Balestrand over our 10 days, but this little (but very upscale feeling) hotel restaurant won. I would tell anyone visiting Songefjord to make it your #1 dinner priority.
The fish of the day (trout) was prepared perfectly. The meat of the day (lamb) was the best lamb I’ve ever eaten. We also got the artichoke main dish and felt like the chef just won the best vegetarian contest with the preparation. The smoked salmon appetizer and the beetroot salad were divine.
We thought the apple cake would be the tastiest dessert given the apple history here, but the chocolate mousse cake knocked our socks off! I’ll take two just for me next time.
And I can’t believe the last thing I’m writing is about the view, but it’s a million dollar view out the restaurant windows!

We were guests at the hotel and spontaneously decided to have dinner here in the restaurant in the evening because of the positive reviews and the very nice impression. That was definitely the right decision!
The food was exceptionally tasty and visually very appealing. We had fish as our main course and both had a sweet dessert. Overall, the restaurant makes an upscale impression, but in a very informal and relaxed atmosphere. The view of the fjord from the glazed north side is breathtaking and literally invites you to stay a little longer with a glass of wine.
The service was, as in the entire hotel, extremely friendly and courteous.

The menu is kept simple. The waitress was very friendly. The restaurant also has a daily changing menu, which the waitress told us would be chicken (meat of the day) and hekk (fish of the day) The waiters can speak very fluent english. Would definetly reccomend this! Stunning view aswell.

Absolutely fantastic food you would find in high end restaurant with more laid back atmosphere. You better get a reservation though.. I don’t know how the menu changes daily but it is built around 4 options for the main: meat, fish, vegetarian and a burger . We actually tried everything on the menu but the burger and everything was delicious( lamb, hake, sunchokes). Would make it a priority to go back when around.

We hebben hier gegeten en een lekkere fles wijn erbij. Het eten was lekker het uitzicht fantastisch en de bediening was super alles met elkaar een zeer geslaagde avond
